        Including bed rest and diet therapy. Ascites indicates the severity of the disease. No matter what the cause of ascites, can not ignore the basic treatment.

        Bed rest

        The recovery of heart, liver and kidney function in bed rest is very important, which is conducive to the resolution of ascites. Bed rest on the one hand can increase the hepatic blood flow, reduce the load of liver metabolism, promote the ascites through the lymph space of the diaphragm re absorption; on the other hand, can make the renal blood flow increased, improve renal perfusion, eliminate water and sodium retention.

        Diet therapy

        Rich nutrition, enough calories for recovery of the disease is necessary. Depending on the content of supply, such as hypoproteinemia should supplement the protein and vitamins; and for severe renal and liver failure, the protein should be restricted to carbohydrate based; for hepatic ascites, should have enough calories, the daily heat in more than 2000Kcal, to supplement the carbohydrates, protein every 1 ~ 1.2g/kg. Hepatic encephalopathy protein should be limited to around 0.5g/kg daily.

        Should be added to the right amount of fat. In order to reduce the decomposition of metabolism, liver cirrhosis patients should be encouraged to eat between two meals. All reported on 28 cases of patients with refractory cirrhosis ascites, in the original treatment on the basis of short-term intravenous fat emulsion 20% 250ml, once every other day, 5 to 6 times for a course of treatment. The results showed that the patient's spirit, appetite were significantly improved, 16 cases of ascites subsided, 10 cases of ascites decreased, that 20% fat emulsion with the treatment to help improve the liver cirrhosis refractory ascites.
